Keeping your piece the way it arrived

Every day

Put your piece on last, after lotion, sunscreen, perfume and hairspray. Take it off first, before showering, swimming or sleeping.

Water and salt

The stone is fine in water. Plated gold-tone and silver-tone findings are not — repeated exposure to chlorine, salt water and sweat will wear the finish. If a piece does get wet, dry it fully with a soft cloth.

Cleaning

Wipe the stone with a slightly damp soft cloth and dry it immediately. Skip jewelry dips, polishing compounds, ultrasonic cleaners and alcohol — they strip plating and can dull a natural stone surface.

Storage

Store flat in the pouch your piece arrived in, away from heat and direct sun. Keep chains unclasped and separated so nothing tangles or scratches.

Wire-wrapped pieces

Wrapped settings are hand-formed. Avoid pulling on the wire or hanging the piece by the stone. If a wrap ever loosens, email us — we will re-tension it for you.

Natural stone, naturally

Beach stones vary in surface and tone, and some lighten slightly as they dry out over the first weeks. That is the stone behaving like a stone, not a defect.
