The ocean makes these. We only find them.
A heart stone is not cut, filed or shaped in any way. It arrives already formed — years of water and sand doing the work — and we pick it up out of a whole beach of ordinary stones.
We find them more often than we can explain, and never when we're looking. One of our daughters usually spots it first. Those are the walks that end early, because nobody wants to top the find.
Heart Tides is the collection we hold the highest bar for. A stone only enters it when the shape is genuinely, unmistakably a heart on its own.
